The "Kraka" airborne weapon carrier vehicle was devloped by Zwierad-Union AG and first demonstrated in the fall of 1962, with its first official trials in 1967.

The Kraka was used to transport TOW ATGMs, 20mm Rh202 auto-cannons, and 120mm mortars. It considerably increased the ground mobility of airborne formations, as well as their ability to fight armored vehicles. 862 Krakas entered service between 1974 and 1975, but it has since been replaced by the Wiesel tracked airborne weapon carrier.
