This vehicle was issued to airborne anti-tank companies as a carrier for the U.S.-made 106mm M40A1 recoilless rifle.

It was powered by a 44hp DKW f91-1000 3-cylinder engine. About 31,000 were ordered by the Bundeswehr, with another 15,750 being built for civilian use.

It was replaced in 1974 by the Kraka airborne weapon carrier.
